The Pacific Northwest (PNW), sometimes referred to as Cascadia,is a geographic region in western North America bounded by its coastal waters of the Pacific Ocean to the west and by the Rocky Mountains to the east. Though no official boundary exists, the most common conception includes the U.S. states of Oregon, Washington, and Idaho, and the Canadian province of British Columbia. – Wikipedia.
The primary location in the CATWALK Series was inspired by the rich topography and stunning backdrop of the West Coast.
As the series developed, I chose to give Casi a background of growing up in Burnaby, British Columbia partially to mirror my own upbringing in Woodland Beach, Ontario. There were certain values and an aesthetic that became important to portray as she evolved. A little secret is that Elmvale, where Kyle grew up, is a tiny town in Ontario, not Washington. Kyle’s lifestyle at the lake and the essence of the Pacific Northwest is deeply rooted in the characters, story, and vibe of the five-part series.
